Student Research Support

The Department of Religious Studies provides generous support for undergraduate and graduate student research.

The department awards a $400 stipend to Religious Studies majors and minors who present a poster at the UI Undergraduate Research Festival.

The department offers a research-assistant course (RELS 4940) in which undergraduate students can work closely with a faculty member to gain valuable research experience.

We also make available a large number of scholarships:

  • Dr. Michelene Pesantubbee Religion and Social Justice Award 

The department also provides generous support for graduate students, including support for travel and summer research
